Expedição Nordeste Monitora Expansão das Áreas Reprodutivas da Baleia Jubarte

Com o aumento populacional das baleias-jubarte, elas estão reocupando áreas de reprodução na costa brasileira que habitavam antes da caça que quase dizimou a espécie.
E para acompanhar essa expansão geográfica das jubartes, o Projeto Baleia Jubarte realizou mais uma expedição, desta vez para o alto Nordeste, com seus pesquisadores embarcando nas capitais Aracaju (SE), Maceió (AL), Recife (PE) e litoral sul da Paraíba, registrando um total de 7 cruzeiros de pesquisa realizados, mais de 300 milhas náuticas percorridas, 50 horas de amostragem, um total de 48 baleias, sendo 7 filhotes, além de quatro outras espécies de cetáceos registradas na Expedição.
Seguimos comemorando e monitorando a recuperação das nossas jubartes, que abre novas fronteiras para a pesquisa e, futuramete, também para a geração de emprego e renda nas comunidades costeiras com o Turismo de Observação!
